I've realized lately  how blessed I am.  We live in a very cruel world where some things just don't make sense.  I've seen many things this summer that have made me realize that even though there have been some bumps in the road, overall I've had a very good life.  It amazes me how many obstacles there are in the lives of others.  I wish there was something I could do to prevent things from happening or to make things better. I dunno.

Now for some updates:

Went to dinner and a movie with my buddy Kim.  Good mexican food at Jalepenos.  Saw Pirates 2 and thought it was one of the best movies I've seen in awhile.  I can't wait for the third one.

Went to a wedding thinking I wouldn't know anyone and wound up knowing several people.  It's a small world after all.

Threw a baby shower last weekend.  Fun times.  It was hot, but I think everyone had a good time (even the guys).  My family is crazy but I love them.

Only a few days of work and tutoring left.  I can't believe school starts in a few weeks.  Schools around here start the 16th.  That just seems so early.  Oh well.  I'm excited!  This year is going to be awesome!

Okay, so it's been almost a month.  This summer has been crazy.  I'm working a lot and not seeing my parents much.  It's odd to be living in the same house with my parents and hardly ever see them.  We went a week and a half without seeing each other because of work schedules and everything.

Thought for today:  Children are amazing.  They're so smart.  Sometimes they think they're not smart, but they really are.  I'm having such an amazing experience tutoring.  It's frustrating and interesting and fun and hopeful all at the same time.

Fourth of July was nice.  Very laid back.  Fun fireworks show in the street.

Only a few weeks left 'til school starts again.  I can't believe it.  A lot has happened and there are so many plans on the calendar for the next few weeks.  Life never seems to slow down, but I kinda like that.  It keeps things interesting.

Only a few weeks into the summer and it's already been crazy.  Working a lot and started my second job last week.  Not spending hardly any time at my "summer home", especially on the weekends.  Seen and/or talked to a lot of good friends.  Visted Manhattan two weeks ago.  Saw the roomies before they leave the country.  Went to Wichita last weekend and got to see the two new boys in the family.  Got to ride in the new Mustang too.  It was awesome!  Busy summer ahead trying to have some fun and read lots of books while still working a ton.

Haven't updated in awhile.  This semester has been super crazy.  Lots of good times, but plenty of bad times too.  I'm excited to go home, but I'm not.  Working two jobs, spending time with family, and hangin with friends is going to keep me busy.  It's gonna be fun though.  And odd.  One of my best friends is moving back home so we'll get to hang out more and that will be fun.  It's still going to be weird knowing he's living there now, since he's been gone for such a long time.  Finals are not going to be fun, but they'll be over soon and that's good.  I'm ready to take a break from school.  But I'm excited for next year.  I'm gonna be super busy but with tons of fun stuff.  Lots of stuff going on all the time.  Yay for spring and new adventures to come!

So I realized tonight why I absolutely HATE rollercoasters.  You're going up and you're all excited and things are good, and then all of a sudden you get to the top and you have to plummet all the way down.  I hate that.  I would like to be able to stay at the top of a rollercoaster long enough to see the scenery around me for even a few minutes.  I hate that I can't control anything either.  Life is such a pain sometimes.
